I played around with AJAX (and prototype) for a internal license
management tool of a company last year. I came up with a couple of great
ideas (tooltips, dashboard, table-sorting etc.), also a menu that takes
a double-click to edit an entry and a right-click to get more options.

At first everybody liked it (I had it out to 5 hardcore testers) but
then they realized that really NO standard (or advanced) webuser would
click twice on a link, image, tablerow etc. on the web / in the browser.
And: Although I told the 5 testers this option they still were using the
alternative, default way (the "edit" button) after a while.

So, that is what the result was: IF I would keep this feature, there
should always be a link next to it, for the dummy user too, with a
one-click-method.

Hope it helps...

greetings,
benni.
