Hi Elmar,
Thanks for all your work over this extended time structuring,
provoking and implementing many of the ideas in the conversations that
have passed through this list. I'm really pleased to be able to use a
better structure to build web applications. The structure provided by
lib/div certainly pulls my coding standards up from the frequent
monolithic method. Very much looking forward to a stable release as I've
been building client solutions based on lib/div already.
I'm interested in reproducing the functionality of an instant TCA editor
using the lib structure. I've sold a number of solutions based on the
admin interface rendering and editor defined by the kickstarter using
the TCA. More usefully, a number of non programmer colleagues are doing
the same. The limitation of this approach when forms are required in a
control structure that is not just search/list/edit. The lib/div
framework has the potential to create a much more flexible
implementation of rapid development tools for forms and lists.
Controllers defined in configuration with kickstarter support would
allow non programmers to do so much more.
An 'automatic' solution for database persistence is one step in this
direction. The other big steps are TCA interpretation for form building,
processing, and validation.
I will certainly be working on this and other commercial projects using
the lib/div framework. I will certainly continue to participate and
share my experiences with this list. I'm open to coding/?? requests. If
you want to give me a role go for it. To date, you have done the heavy
lifting. Failing other suggestions I'm just going to keep working on my
angle.
Steve
