Hello,

this question is not of high priority but I am curious to see if someone is
interested in this field. There are some groupware projects with a lot of
extensions that are also GPL. In theory it would be possible to make all those
nice plugins available for TYPO3. How could we do this in practice?

Solution a) Groupware bridge:

* Run both frameworks the groupware and TYPO3 at the same time.
* Handle user and access permissions to the groupware.
* Display the output of the groupeware plugin inside a TYPO3 page.
* Modify the links and forms of the Groupware in a way that they send back to
TYPO3.
* Handle the sended parameteres back to the groupware.

Solution b) API layer:

* Write a layer for the groupware plugins, that handles groupware function calls
to the matching functions of the TYPO3 API.
* Run plugnins in the TYPO3 framework directly this way.
* Coordinate teams of groupware and TYPO3 for functions that not match directly.

Did anybody allready do something like this?
Does anybody think of an appropriate groupware?
Does anybody has contact to a groupware developer team?

Regards

Elmar
