hi hi!

thanx.

never ;-)

i think we don't have to focus just on schools but also on universities
and science&education, like the references on edu.typo3.com show:
http://edu.typo3.com/References.referenzen0.0.html

>> - extranet/intranet possibilities

right but this depends also on what you do in your intranet. if you do
not store grades or top secret docs but only internal news (like
scientific institutes) and you want to minimize the user administration...

>> - ldap coupling
> same as the above

same as above, e.g. use the same users for the mailserver...

>> - single-sing-on
> if you decide to use TYPO3, you decide to use it.. There's no real need

same as above, easy access to all resources

but maybe the students are interested in. the number of typo3 related
theses grow...

>> + Powerful newsletter functionality including categorisable content
> based on usergroups.

my issue ;-): science&education does. but maybe with other tools e.g.
mailman. but i think it's ok to mention it...

>> + Multi-client capabilities (one BE serves different (sub-)domains)
> Hardly any school needs subdomains.

my issue once more ;-): science&education does (like joey already said).

japp, so you are also in need of a good user administration ;-)

+1 -> user adminstration ;-)

> - Enable your students to learn at home through downloadable worksheets

+1

> - Minimize the cost for printing by offering formulars online

that depends on who is looking for the solution

c&p from the wiki:
- teachers
- students
- those who manage the project
- IT personnel

but your right we have to keep it short, specific and concise (is this
the right word... ;-)).

have a nice day
