I mean that my checkDataSubmission hook itself provides a hooks for 
creating a custom error message. If no classes are registered for that 
hook, the standard error message is displayed.

I can explain this better with my use case: I have a client who wants to 
redirect to some special page when a file cannot be downloaded. So in 
this case, TYPO3's 404 redirect would not do. While thinking about this 
patch I decided that there could be so many use cases for this error 
handling, that it wasn't worth introducing tons of TS parameters, but 
rather have some standard, reasonable mechanism and provide a hook for 
those who have a special need.
