Thanks for bringing this issue up.

I think we need to start with the fact that TSConfig options are not 
documented in the manual. Therefore we can't refer anywhere to see what 
the correct option/behavior should be.

I think we should address the documentation issue for 1.2. Should this 
patch still be applied to both 1.1 and trunk?
