It's a temporary workaround, and that's what I called it to be. As soon
as TYPO3 4.2.4 is out, it can be removed again.

We were hoping to release both versions on the same day, but now that
this is not possible, we have a simple fix to work around that dependency.

And I agree with Michiel: The new version should work out of the box.
