It makes DAM work 'out of the box' on stock Debian systems with certain
'magick' setups.

People should not have to patch their TYPO3 installations because of a
bug in core. An XCLASS is an elegant solution in this case. It can be
removed as soon as TYPO3 4.2.4 comes out.

It's very non-intrusive, adds very little code.

The patch works as expected.
