I disagree about that. The selectors are usually used to let the user
choose between completely different operation modes (like the Web =>
Info module, for example).

However, this case is different: The DAM list module offers two pages
where the selection can be made (List, Thumbnails) and one more where
the selection can be processed. That is somehow bound together.

There are two reasons for bringing them back:

1) Many users of DAM have got used to the tabs
2) This particular selector looks quite ugly :-)

As I said already, I am not an expert in usability, nor most of you are.
However, I am quite convinced that many users will miss it. And I agree
with Uschi: If it doesn't get fixed before 1.1, there is no need to do
it any more.
