<div dir="ltr">I somewhat agree with Tolleiv here. I really love Debian, but it leaves us with many problems in regards to maintaining a non-LTS version.<div>Christian is doing a great job taking care of all this, that's why we almost don't get affected by these problems.</div>
<div><br></div><div style>Still, I think that we should consider a different way of providing the releases, mainly for becoming less dependent on the lifetime of a Debian release.</div><div style>For example, I like the approach that VirtualBox is taking: They provide their own apt repository and can ship new releases on the same day as we release a new version.</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>Still, this has all the advantages of a Debian package:<br></div><div>- resolving of dependencies during installation</div><div>- patch-level releases integrated with normal system update process (apt-get update && apt-get upgrade)<br>
</div><div><br></div><div style>Christian, I suggest that you consider this option and maybe decide to discontinue the packages as part of the Debian distribution. We could certainly help out with a mirror to provide the packages, e.g. <a href="http://www.typo3.org/debian/">www.typo3.org/debian/</a></div>

c) would be my answer, because for me it feels wrong to have a debian package for an php application in the first place. But this might be a misconception of what I use debian package for. So it would basically be interesting how many people actually use that package from debian - before we answer that question ;)<br>
