Hello Mathias,

sadly a single reference system won't help.

We need to check the following scenarios IMHO:

 - Linux + latest supported mysql / php
   no byte code cache
   default config of TYPO3

 - Linux + latest supported mysql / php
   with byte code cache
   default config of TYPO3

 - Linux + oldest supported mysql / php
   no byte code cache
   default config of TYPO3

 - Linux + oldest supported mysql / php
   with byte code cache
   default config of TYPO3

 - Linux + latest supported mysql / php
with byte code cache + optimized caching in TYPO3
   default config of TYPO3

Some for Windows / Solaris or different Linux Distributions.
This way we could also get an overview about how to optimize the
systems, which host our TYPO3 :D

Regards
Kay
