Actually it's not. If you provide an OpenID server for your employees,
then you can whitelist this server and have accounts created
automatically if they are missing.

I created such an extension some time ago, but never finished it. If
anybody is interested, I might get back on it again...

A little OT, but still want to bring it up here.
