I read again the whole thread and it seems the opinion was quite undecided whether it would be good or not to have more Extbase-related stuff in trunk.

I'd like to get some (quick) fresh opinion on that before digging again into this issue which might as well be dropped if it's not really needed anymore after a few months of having numerous changes 
in both core and Extbase/Fluid.
