[Typo3-UG Russia] 'No thumb generated!' in BE

Hi pplz!

thumbs in the typo3 BE show up with a broken image
icon that says 'No thumb generated! :'

I tried to use a different copyes and versions of ImageMagick:
- v. 5.4.2 in /usr/bin;
- v. 4.2.9 in webroot of my site
in both cases the image processing test of the install tool of typo3 working
fine.

System:
i386-suse-linux 2.4.20-isp-2.1.6-pl3 
Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) PHP/4.3.3 mod_gzip/1.3.19.1a rus/PL30.16

Any suggestions on how to fix the image problem?
