[TYPO3-v4] Typoscript fragmentation

Hi,

Until recently the Typoscript Object Browser was a powerful tool to
analyse the configuration of a page and track where which property was set.

One weakness of Typoscript configuration was that it was done on a
per-page basis. If you had multiple instances of the same plugin on a
page they are all using the same TS configuration.

Some time ago an extension such as 'cal' introduced a Typoscript field
in its flexform. The number of configuration settings in 'cal' is so
large that it is not normally possible to include these in the flexform.
To allow per-instance configuration with Typoscript a TS field was
introduced.

Recent versions of tt_news also includes such a field in the flexform
(tab Other settings).

Even though this makes it possible to configure a particular instance of
a plugin using Typoscript, the normal tools in the BE are not so useful
any more.

What is your opinion of this trend? Are there alternatives which can be
supported by the usual TS tools?
