[TYPO3-v4] Virtual TCA fields

Hi all,

I seem to remember that such a topic was already discussed at least 
once, but I can't find track of it.

What would it take in your opinion to add "virtual" fields to the TCA. I 
mean fields that would be rendered in TCEforms, based on their TCA 
configuration, but that would not have a database counterpart.

This would probably always be user-defined fields. It would be a great 
enhancement IMO as it could be used to define fields that display 
additional information based on the values of other fields. I have more 
than a few use cases in mind when having such a possibility would help 
improve usability, in particular to generate previews of various things.
