[TYPO3-v4] FE-Users and workload on Server

Hi all.

I'm new to this list, so i say hello to everybody.

I
have a question : in my department, we need to create a new site for
students, and we plan to set up a reserved area, accessible via login
by students
The number of students is huge : we talking about 50.000 students : 
the
question is : is Typo3 FE-login strong enought to handle a 5000  daily
login without overloading servers or it is a valid alternative in Typo3
(plugin) to handle this without the drama to kill the server?

Anyone that has got experience in this problem is welcome.
