[TYPO3-mvc] Upgrading an application from Extbase 1.3

Hi all,

I developed a while ago an Extbase application for TYPO3 4.5 (hence 
Extbase 1.3). At some point in the future I'll need to upgrade it to a 
more recent version and I'm worried about a particular point, which is 
the new property mapper introduced in 1.4. There's a page in the wiki:

but with nearly no information. What problems could I expect (if any)?
