[TYPO3-mvc] extbase_kickstarter: Cloning the "master" branch from GIT fails

Hi,

I tried to clone the extbase_kickstarter repository from the git.typo3.org
site.
Unfortunately the clone-process fails due to an error saying " warning:
remote HEAD refers to nonexistent ref, unable to checkout".
Other projects on the git-Site work like a charme. Can anyone reproduce the
error or tell me a workaround :) ?
