[TYPO3-mvc] Problems with Umlaute

Just for curiosity: What do you consider to be "native utf8"?

What is the "latin1-compat-mode"? forceCharset and setDBinit are IMO 
enforced for a correct utf8 setup by TYPO3 > 4.5.X

Do you mean database/table/field is still stored as latin1 while TYPO3 
is using utf-8?

P.S.: make sure apache/php is sending approriate charset-headers when 
not using the regular TYPO3 Frontend (which takes cares of that itself).
