Finally done. Sorry that it couldn't be earlier. Note that I tested the 
patch with TYPO3 4.5, because I don't have a proper setup for testing 
with 4.6, even less with current TYPO3 master. Anyway I hope this will 
be back-ported to 4.5, because of LTS.

Thanks again for your work, completing and enhancing my early patch.
