[TYPO3-shop] Catlist Menu Configuration

I've asked this question before but didn't really get an answer. Is 
there a English document that can help me properly configure the catlist 
  menu with multi levels. The tt_products manual doesn't really explain 
much about configuration of the categories menu. I've managed to get the 
menu setup like this:

parent
  subitem
  subitem
parent
  subitem
  subitem
etc.

My problem is that when I select a parent category it does not display 
the products from the subcategory. Everything else works like expected. 
If I select a parent category it displays the subcategories but not the 
products from does categories.

I assume that when you select a parent category it should show all the 
products belonging to the subcategories.

I'm really stuck here, I've searched for a solution with no success.

I'm using tt_products 2.5.4 with RealURL.
