[TYPO3-shop] commerce ... ready or Hot ?

In that case it definitely ain't GPL. Under GNU GPL, source code must be 
made available, no exceptions allowed. However cleverly the xtc guy's 
reasoning for obscuring the source may be, thei are violating GPL.

Whatsmore, xt-commerce is derived from osCommerce, which has a lot of 
serious drawbacks, just to name few:
- several critical security issues
- no clear API for extending functionality, a lot of messing with source 
code
- no templating, again messing with source
- extremely lousy thought of DB structure, dozens of DB queries executed 
for each page displayed, limited caching possibilities, no static 
publishing avilable

I suggest sticking to tt_products for the meantime and hoping/praying 
that Volker & Co. will come back to reason and release what's been done 
in new commerce ext so far.
