You can do so directly in SQL.

You could also do it by abusing TYPO3 ;)
Create a new action of type (sql) list.
The go to DB Tools -> search database. Modify the query to only list news 
entries older that X.
Go to task center to see all records and use the modify all at once. If you 
only list one column, you can past-tab-paste-tab-paste-tab.

I would go for a raw SQL statement.
