[TYPO3-ttnews] CATMENU only with a part of the category-tree

Hi there,

I want to display a tt-news CATMENU - but I dont want to show the full category-tree. Is there any possibility to select a starting point on the category-tree and display only the entries below that starting point?

Clarification: the available categories are:
cat 1
cat 1.1
cat 2
cat 2.1
cat 2.1.1
cat 2.2
cat 3

and I want to display only:
cat 2 
cat 2.1
cat 2.1.1
cat 2.2

any idea?
