[TYPO3-ttnews] can't install tt_news 3.0.1 on t3 4.4.0

Hello,

when i try to install tt_news 3.0.1 on typo3 4.4.0 i get the following 
message:

The running TYPO3 version (4.4.0) is higher than allowed (4.3.99).

can i safely ignore this warning or should i wait for an upgrade?
