[TYPO3-ttnews] pictures at the top of the latest

Hello
I have a news where pictures are at the top of the record. When those news are displayed in the latest or in the list view then I see only a piece of <img> tag or whole picture which overrides other news items below and make all of it looks not good. 
Is it possible to "jump" a picture with TS or somehow in the latest or list and show only first words - only text which is below a picture? Picture will be show only in the single view.
