[TYPO3-timtab] Installing Timtab

I don't want to get caught in an assumption so I thought I'd ask here first.

I'm setting up a site for a blog.  I've followed the TIMTAB manual, 
however the only modules it indicates to put on any pages are the 2 
instances of the Modern Guestbook.

Am I correct in assuming that tt_news list/latest/single view need to be 
installed?  Or does timtab display the blog entries some other way?
