[TYPO3-timtab] calendar links and category limits

I'm a bit of a TIMTAB newbie running 4.02. I'm having a hard time figuring 
out how get the calendar to actually link to posts. It show up fine but has 
not links.

Also my category menu includes all the categories from tt_news. I'd like to 
limit that to just blog categories like this
plugin.tx_timtab.displayCatMenu.targetPid = 12

But it doesn't change anything.
Any help appreciated
