[TYPO3-timtab] timtab not showing up inspite of being installed

hi, 

i am having quite some trouble starting with timtab. i am new to typo3,
though i quite like it and do not want to lose the fight against the
beast ;-) 

now my problem: 
i have those extenstions installed successfully (some of them are not
necessary, sure, but i wanted to try to have a look).

now i am trying to install timtab. i upload it, agreed to install it. yet it
does not show up anywhere, neither install extenstions nor loaded
extentions. 
if i load it up again i get a note timtab was already installed an whether i
wanted to uninstall it. i did and tried again, installed. yet - nothing. 

is there a way anyone here might help me to get started?
