I could solve this:

It looks, as if at the initial installation of the ve_guestbook
extension, the database tables haven't been created correctly. Also
deinstalling and reinstalling didn't help.

What I did to solve it: Uninstalled the extensions (timtab,
ve_guestbook). Opened phpmyadmin and deleted the ve_guestbook_entries
table. Then reinstalled the extension and got it create the table. Then
installed timtab (that extends this table with at least a field).

Commenting is working now :-)
