[TYPO3-Solr] Pass search parameter into plugin

Hello,

On our homepage is a search field with the desired CSS applied.  Its acction is redirected to a page where we would like to have the results from the Solr search displayed. Is there an example of how to set up the Solr plugin to accept parameters from another search form and then perform the search on the given parameters?
