[TYPO3-Solr] Indexing / Querying external sites

  Hi all,

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I didn't find a real solution for 
my problem so far.

On a TYPO3 website that's using the solr extension for searching the 
internal pages (this works quite well at the moment) it should also be 
possible to search pages on an external (non TYPO3) website.
Is it possible to configure the solr extension so it will index sites 
outside the TYPO3-tree? And after the sites are indexed is it possible 
to search on these external sites? Or should the external site be 
indexed on a different way?
