Where exactly does this content appear?

When exactly does it appear - when seminar is installed in the EM, when
its static template is included, or when there actually is a seminars
content element on that page?

If the latter, with which types of seminar plugin (list, single view,
registration page ...) does this problem occur?

Are you using the TER version of seminar of some modified version?
