Let me ask the obvious first before we start looking any deeper:

- Have you tried to save the record? (The exclamation mark will only be
removed when you click on the "Save" button.)

- Have you entered a title *and* an organizer for this event record?
(Both are required fields, and the exclamation mark sometimes is
positioned a bit off.)
