[TYPO3-project-seminars] dateFormat german

Hi all,

I'd like to get the date format: 
Mo, 1. Juli - Fr, 30. August 08
or, better, 
Mo, 1. Juli bis Fr, 30. August 08

Could you give me a hint how to reach this?
I'm working with the seminars-extension version 0.6.1.

When configuring:
     dateFormatYMD = %a, %d.%M.%y
the result is:
     Sun, 01.00.08

1. the date keeps English although the seminars extension itself switches correctly to German in other respects.
2. %M doesn't show the name of the month, but 00

I found a similar question on http://lists.netfielders.de/pipermail/typo3-project-seminars/2007-December/000620.html, but unfortunately no answer.
