Yes, the nightly build are not really nightly at the moment, but rather
... every-now-and-then-ly ...

Theoretically, yes, but it would be a lot of work as you'd have to
download every single file.

If you like to keep the most bleeding-edge version (either from the
0.5.x branch or from the trunk), I recommend using SVN. The needed SVN
data is available in the manual.
