[TYPO3-rte] 'internal-link' not valid

Hello,

after setting up a link with class 'internal-link' I can see this code 
when I toggle into text mode:
<a class="internal-link" href="http://xxx/?id=10"><img height="10" 
width="14" src="http://xxx/uploads/RTEmagicC_5948ab6911.gif.gif" />…</a>

Looks OK but file ending twice.

At my web site the image tag is not valid (missing closing slash):
<a href="/index.php?id=10" class="internal-link" ><img 
src="/uploads/RTEmagicC_5948ab6911.gif.gif" width="14" height="10" 
alt="">…</a>

Doctype:

config.doctype = xhtml_trans
TYPO3 4.4.2

Is there a way to fix this?
