[TYPO3-RTE] Upload image in RTE not showing

Hello list,

I recently had this problem : I authorized images in HtmlArea RTE (1.7.7 
/ Typo3 4.2.3) but the upload field doesn't show when I insert an image.
I found that it is related to something called "readOnly mode" but 
couldn't find any further information about it.

My Default configuration settings is "Typical".
By switching to "Demo" the upload field has reappeared, but by comparing 
the 2 configs I didn't find anything related to "readOnly mode".

Is there anyway to get this field again in Typical mode ?
