doesn't tell just anything and that apparently needs some changes into 
parsefunc of Typo3.

as I wrote ask this from tinymce_rte people

tinymce_rte doesn't open immediately the image dialog - you can put 
*directly* the address of the image - then external image linking should 
be possible.

If you need to fetch image to local folders, then you can browse them.

Linking to external images is very simple using tinymce_rte - just paste 
the address of the image to the field.
