[TYPO3-RTE] External Image Hosts and adding BBCode Support

I would like to add externally hosted images to my posts, like 
photobucket for example, to lighten the load on my server. I have tried 
putting the <img src=" for the hosted image, but the RTE and magic 
image download and host the image locally.


BBCODE

Being that forums are common place and people are familiar with bbcode 
for images, I was wondering where I can create custom html replacement 
for tags. Like [img] and [/img] would equal <img src="  and  " /> .

My plan is if I can replace 1 tag, I could write a complete bbcode 
addon to allow the code for people who are familiar with it. I have 
seen this implimented on Drupal, and think it would be nice.
