[TYPO3-RTE] "No font" kills all kinds of inline formatting

Hi,
why is it that after I copied a text into the RTE which has font tags
on it and I then set the whole text to "no font", all my italics, bold,
etc. are gone even though they were set in <i> and <b> tags? That
doesn't seem to make sense and can also be rather annoying at
times... :(

Or is that just a configuration problem?
