[TYPO3-RTE] Spell Checker Error

Hi list,

i have a TYPO3 4.2.3 installation running on a Debian box and Aspell 
with German and English dictionaries installed. Aspell is version 0.6x 
and the path is configured  correctly, as I had an error message in the 
popup before.

Now I get the popup without any error message, but the loading process 
finishes witout result. If I have a look at the "Net" tab of Firebug I 
could see a red line:

spell-check-logic (500)

where the full url is something like

http://my.domain.com/cms/typo3/sysext/rtehtmlarea/htmlarea/plugins/SpellChecker/spell-check-logic.php

so the system resides in a subfolder.


I have no clue so far, where to look to get this running and I 
appreciate any help on this.
