[TYPO3-RTE] applying text style to special characters?

I think it's a bug. After some testing I noticed that you can apply 
styles to string which conatin at least one Latin letter or Arabic 
digit. No punctuation and even no accented letters are allowed (at leat 
not on my iso-8859-1 site).
