HTMLAREA has many problems with Typo3 3.8.1
and it is important to choose the most suitable version for
typo3 3.8.1.

That is *not* clear. 1.0.x misses some enable options, which
are in newer versions. Buttonset control works differently,
which makes difficult to setup desired button sets.

I just added comment about alternative RTE - it might
work in overall better endeed both HTMLAREA and TinyMCE have problems.
Why *not* propose to test alternative RTE?
