[TYPO3-realty] Banner/Badge over picture when object is "Rented"

Hi all,

I have a quick question regarding the Realty extension,

I'd like to have the following functionality;

When an realty object in the backend is ticked (checkbox) as RENTED, i want to have a kind of badge/banner 
overlay over the picture of the property in the list-view saying RENTED or SOLD (and possible also in single-view).

There would be several ways around this, but for me the easiest way would be to have some kind of class
added to the according object in the list view so i can style it accordingly with a background-image overlay or something.

Can anybody please help me by telling me how i could possibly get this done, or get me started by pushing me in the right direction,
