please configure your news client to put your full name in the From:.

And please create a new message to open a new thread. If you reply to an
existing message, your message will be sorted in that thread which
considerably reduces the chances of getting a reply.

No, generally not.

You may try executing the import on the command line and see whether
there are any error messages (possible an out-of-memory problem).
