Hi Andreas,

basic problem is that the origin notation of the sign (<) and the 
entitie (%lt;) in the data-source should be handled different that the 
output is the same as the input (sign or entitie).

Concerning your point that in your proposition only one sign (<) will be 
covered could be solved by usage of htmlentities().
