Certainly not a desirable situation.
Some statistics of the translation file:
- pageGrp's : 102
- data blocks : 1568
- t3_skippedItems : 4

Not an extremely large website. I tried to reduce the size by
spreading the <pageGrp> blocks over multiple files. Even at approx.
25% of the original size the site timed out.
Setting the max_execution_time to a very large value will not help
very much when the connection with the webserver reaches a timeout
(which is not very unlikely when I look at the speed at which the
translations are processed).

Is there a workaround you can suggest? I don't think I can continue an
import which has been terminated due to a timeout. Even worse: part of
the site is translated, but I don't know where the previous attempt
was stopped (otherwise you could simply remove the parts that were
already processed from the XML file).

Is there a way to accelerate the implementation of a solution? Details
can be sent outside the list if you prefer.
