I've got to thank you heartily for this link. This is a real treasure
trove: high quality, open source fonts. Most of them are beautiful.
This will be very useful for our current discussion. Indeed I wasn't
convinced at all about using Vera as a serif font for the main text, as
I think it's far too wide and heavy for convenient reading. I made a
couple of full page prints and really don't like it. In general I don't
really much like Vera I must say. I started using because I knew it was
free and pretty complete in terms of characters.
I will make a couple of tries and submit a new version, probably
tomorrow. The only place where Vera might stay is for monospace as none
of the arkandis fonts offer monospaced variants. And Vera Sans Mono is
actually quite good.
